If you are moving to Spain for work, you may be taxed as a non-resident for six years. We check if you qualify, apply on time and file your returns every year.
What it is
The special regime for inbound workers, known as the Beckham Law, lets people who move to Spain pay tax on their Spanish employment income at a flat 24% up to €600,000, instead of the progressive income tax rates, for the year they arrive and the following five years.
Since the Startups Law, the regime also covers more profiles: entrepreneurs, highly qualified professionals working for startups, company directors in some cases and remote workers, plus their spouse and children under certain conditions.
The application deadline is short and cannot be fixed later, so it pays to check your case before or right after you arrive.

In detail
You must not have been a Spanish tax resident in the five years before moving.
You move for a job with a Spanish or foreign employer, as a remote worker, as a company director or to carry out an entrepreneurial activity, among other cases set out in the law.
The application (Modelo 149) must be filed within six months of registering with Spanish Social Security. Miss it and you cannot opt in later.
Your employment income is taxed at 24% up to €600,000 and at a higher rate above that. Most foreign-source income is not taxed in Spain under the regime, and you file Modelo 151 instead of the standard income tax return.
